"What is Wild is Worth Protecting" is an homage to Up North. My annual trips to the Boundary Waters have cultivated my passion for protecting our public lands through education and advocacy. This piece is meant to exude the wondrous feeling of discovery, when you let nature lead, you see things you might often overlook. This style is meant to uncover details the more you look at it. It includes personal memories from my adventures, quintessential themes of northern Minnesota, and a deep appreciation for the land we are so lucky to experience.

Meet Dr. Alexandra K. Yaszemski

Dr. Alexandra Yaszemski is a neuroscientist, mixed media artist, and a caregiver & advocate for Alzheimer's Disease. Her work aims to spark curiosity and connection through a blend of science communication and illustrative work. She takes inspiration from her relationship with her mother, whom she has cared for through her Alzheimer's progression over the last 7 years, which includes a shared love of nature.
