This is a view point of Lake Superior. It is Oil on Birch Panel. To get the photo reference for this painting I climbed down to Fall River, and perched on the rocks during a very windy wavy day. This is part of my series of art about protecting water, I'm hoping that people can unite on this issue.

Meet Katy Kelly Noun

My work draws inspiration from the ever-changing landscape of Lake Superior and the North Shore of Minnesota. Through oil and encaustic painting, as well as ceramic sculpture, I explore the dynamic energy of the lake, its shifting light, fog, and the motion of the waves. This landscape is one of constant transformation—each season revealing new textures, colors, and rhythms that I seek to capture in my art.
