ABOUT THE ART
I painted a loon screaming because its cry feels like a warning. It’s wild, loud, and impossible to ignore—just like the need for justice. In Minnesota, the loon is a symbol of nature and spirit, but here it’s also a voice for truth. The title means that when the loon cries, we should listen. It’s calling us to care, to act, to speak up.
