Uncle Sam Gets to Work

ABOUT THE ART
In 1917 artist James Montgomery Flagg painted the Uncle Sam for the famous "I want YOU" poster to encourage recruitment during WWI. I used an Uncle Sam he painted in 1944 for my stencil but removed the original anti Japanese message. My Uncle Sam is preparing to get to work against the threat Minnesotans are facing. I also wanted to convey that ICE, Nazism, and KKK are one and the same.

If someone wants me to spray paint this stencil somewhere, I can accommodate locally.

Meet Diana Boger

I'm a visual designer specializing in book design and layout. I started making mostly artistic stencils when I lived in DC in the late '80s. But once ICE was deployed to Minnesota, it was clear this was bad, really bad, for democracy. I was compelled to protest, participate in my neighborhood watch, and make/distribute art.
