ABOUT THE ART
The artwork responds to the recent ICE presence in Minneapolis through a quilt-style composition of Minnesota symbols—loons, stands of pine, wheat, and a drooping wildflower. Within the pattern, a couple of patches quietly invert into an upside-down American flag, a visual protest that interrupts the warmth of the patchwork and signals distress over the government’s handling of the crisis. Anchored by the phrase “We’re All MPLS,” the piece insists that the city’s experience is not isolated, but part of a larger national story—one where local identity, resilience, and dissent are inseparable.
